Twitter & Comedy Central Working Together To Promote Tonight’s “Comedy Awards” 2011:
Comedy Central Goes Twitter Using “Promoted Trends”
Comedy Central is promoting using Twitter. Comedy Central will be using Twitter’s “promoted trend” feature to increase the popularity of tonight’s broadcast of the Comedy Central Awards Show 2011. The “Comedy Awards” were taped a couple of weeks ago but Twitter and Comedy Central will be working together to advertise and market the show. They have also put out a preview “explicit” video that shows how hilarious the show was.
Network Effects Using Twitter
Twitter and Comedy Central will be using #hashtags to start a topic around the show to get network effects from people tweeting as the show goes live. The more people that use the hastag the more network effects Comedy Central will gain via tweets. Twitter is working closely with tv shows to get them online and create new ways to extend brands via the internet. Recently, buzz hit the net about new Twitter pages for businesses and services which would help events like Comedy Central’s Comedy Awards Show tonight engage more users with a scrolling page of activity that could be targeted to a centrally updated Twitter location.
