Jefferies’ Global Market Tablet Forecast Predicts Sales Will Increase.
Tablet Sales Haven’t Peaked!
Didn’t get that tablet yet? Neither did most people but soon they may be picking one up. Jefferies predicts that tablet sales have not yet peaked and more growth is forthcoming. Tablet sales worldwide are expected to increase by over 300 percent to 70 million sold.
Apple has the first mover advantage with other tablet makers slowly cashing in since the sector began. Apple created the tablet sector and has the preferred consumer electronics device of choice in the space. Jefferies is looking closely at Samsung, ZTE and Huawei to grow larger as a result of tablet sales. The forecast doesn’t predict spectacular growth for Sony, HP, Dell or Motorola. The Motorola Xoom hasn’t sold as well as some anticipated and the graph from Jefferies shows the Xoom may get lapped by other newer tablet technologies. Our preliminary research shows tablet makers with other electronics that are widely sold will do better than those that have less brand identity to leverage.
